Placer County Sheriff's Council "Placer County Sheriff's Council Committed To Law Enforcement, Dedicated To Making A Difference To Our Community" Our Mission: The Placer County Sheriff's Council was formed in 2004 by local citizens seeking ways to help the Sheriff's Office maintain its current efficiency, improve its effectiveness in the short term and seek innovative solutions to the increasingly complex problems faced by the men and women of law enforcement. The Council aims to help fill the gap between the public's need for increasing law enforcement services and tightening county budgets. While our efforts focus on providing specialized equipment and supplies for public safety, we are also involved in education and training. "It's time to give something back..." We count on them to keep us safe. They are on-call at all hours to protect us. The men and women of the Placer County Sheriff's Office have committed themselves to making our families safe and our homes secure. By helping to provide much needed equipment and training, not available through the county budget, the Sheriff's Council is trying to make a difference. The business and community leaders of the council have volunteered to work closely with law enforcement to help meet those needs. In addition to helping supply equipment, the council has been instrumental in supporting educational and training objectives and has helped fund Placer County's DARE Program in local schools. |

Tahoe Center for Environmental Sciences Tour Tour of the Tahoe Center for Environmental Sciences at Sierra Nevada College Campus. Wine & cheese available. Spouses, Significant Others and prospective member guests welcome. Great opportunity for dinner out with some Rotary friends on your own before the tour. The Tahoe Center for Environmental Sciences (TCES) is a distinctive partnership between public and private institutions of higher education in two states. It provides a world-class center for scientific research in the understanding of alpine lakes and the preservation of the environmental quality of such important resources.
The facility provides an opportunity for undergraduate and graduate students to associate with and study under some of the leading scientists in the fields of environmental science and environmental policy. In addition, it is intended that this research facility, through the use of interactive research stations, will be a resource for the members of the Lake Tahoe communities. Because of the synergistic environment that is being created, and the environmentally friendly quality of the structure, the Tahoe Center for Environmental Sciences is one of the most important venues in the world for the study and development of solutions for the problems created by developmental pressures on fragile ecosystems. |

At tonights general membership meeting we will be acknowledging the competitors from Rotary, Fire Department, Placer Sheriff and the Nordic Search and Rescue who battled mackinaw aboard the Big Mack for dubious honors and awards. Bragging rights is really what it's all about. We will also be honoring five new member inductees into the club this evening. Be sure to be on hand to welcome Kalie Cegalia, Kelly Gelbman, Jason Cameron, Dave Eichenberg and Mike Marrone. What a fabulous group they are. Also be sure to thank the Young Professional's Committee members for their successful efforts in recruiting these individuals. See you there.....Prez Rog
