Dear Fellow Rotarians, I am honored to serve as your president for the 2010-2011 Rotary year. When I first joined the Tahoe City Rotary Club, I never imagine that this Club of Service was going to become so important to me. We are an active group engaged in many local as well as international projects that offer our members opportunities to reach out to those who are in need. Ensuring a successful year, of course, requires the participation and commitment of our entire membership. We have in place an excellent board and talented and hard working committee chairs. Together, they will lead our work in the coming year to maintain and enhance our projects and fund raising efforts. But the success of these projects will ultimately depend on all of you: you will all be called upon, whether to request an auction item from business, to sell raffle tickets, to work in the snow at our Sled day at Granlibakken or to give to the Foundation. In these challenging economic times, we are called upon more than ever to serve; please be generous with your time and commitment. Remember, in some small way, it all helps to make our world a better place. We also have a strong fellowship component amongst our members. We enjoy working, playing and laughing together and forming new friendships that will last forever. The self satisfaction one can achieve when presented with the opportunities Rotary can offer is endless. Many of our members have found richer and more meaningful lives through membership in our club.
I challenge each one of us to share our ideas, our talents, our time and our financial resources - to share the best of ourselves - with our club, our community and our world, and to make this one of our best Rotary years in Tahoe City. Thank you for your commitment and support in the coming year,
Jim Fleming President, 2010-2011 Rotary Club of Tahoe City
