Circle the date! The 37th Annual Dick Linkey Rotary Ski Challenge looks to be better than ever. Check the Fact Sheet for specifics. As has been our aim in the past, this event benefits the many programs of the Rotary Club of Tahoe City and its Foundation. Join us for a day of friendly competition and Rotarian fellowship.
Our race this year will again be held at Northstar California
We are again offering Apres Ski with heavy hors d’oevres beginning about 3:30 pm just before the awards ceremony. It will still not be an official dinner, but we have a good selection of food. We hope to have completed all activities by 5:00 pm.

Enclosed is a complete Registration package (also available on our website listed below). Have your team captain complete the Registration Form and make copies of the Northstar Release Form. Have each racer sign one of the release forms and complete the racer information section at the bottom. Return the completed registration form and the signed releases along with your Club Check made out to Rotary Club of Tahoe City Ski Challenge (we will only accept one check per team and require that it be your club check) to the address below as soon as possible. The racing order is assigned in the order in which we receive your complete registration package. The deadline is March 1, 2013. It pays to get organized early. Remember to encourage all members to compete.   Awards will be presented for the overall 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place for men’s and women’s Scratch and Handicap categories. Awards for the Open Snowboard Division and Exchange Students will be given as well. Once again we are pleased to have some awards for age groups – 60 and Over, 70 and Over and 80 and Over. If you have exchange students who wish to participate, they will be competing with other exchange students. Although they will race with your team, they will not be considered part of your 5-man team. Exchange Students are to be sponsored by their Rotary Club.

Please pass this information on to your Bulletin Editor to insert in your newsletter. Most importantly, arrange to have the completed registration package including the release form (one from each racer), and a Rotary Club Check to us by March 1, 2013. Please don’t forget to include racer’s age.

Chairman's Note:
We are, as usual, expecting a wonderful day of racing, skiing and Rotarian camaraderie. We would like to encourage your club to spread the word about our ski race to any club in your area that we may have missed in our mailing. If your club has any raffle items to contribute to our ski day raffle, we would be most grateful. As you know there is always a new set of skis and bindings but all other contributions are welcome.

We also want to assure your skiers that the course will be a gentle Giant Slalom and not a Slalom course. We look forward to seeing you March 8th.
